Torre del Falcone

The tower rises 190 meters above sea level at the northwestern tip of Sardinia, offering views across both the outer and inner seas.

Built in 1557, the structure formed part of a defensive network of five towers designed to protect the Sardinian coast from maritime invasions.

The tower exemplifies regional construction methods through its use of crystalline schist, a metamorphic rock commonly found in Stintino's territory.

Visitors can reach the tower by following marked paths from Stintino, with the site remaining open during daylight hours throughout the year.

The structure stands near nesting grounds of peregrine falcons, which continue to inhabit the black schist cliffs surrounding the promontory.
