Spiaggia della Pelosa, Mediterranean beach in Stintino, Italy

Spiaggia della Pelosa is a crescent-shaped beach with white sand that curves along turquoise waters. Granite rock formations and Mediterranean plants frame the shoreline, creating a natural setting where the sand meets the sea.

A defensive tower was built on a nearby island around 1578 to protect against attacks from the sea. This structure from centuries past still stands as a landmark visible from the beach today.

The place takes its name from the nearby Piana Island. Today, these shores attract visitors seeking clear water and peaceful surroundings in a setting shaped by fishing traditions.

The beach is easy to reach on foot, but visitor numbers are limited during busy months to protect the area. Arrive early, wear light clothing, and bring water, as the white sand reflects intense sun and becomes very hot underfoot.

The water stays shallow and calm for many meters from shore because two nearby islands act as natural barriers against waves. This geographical feature makes swimming unusually safe for all ages and abilities.
