Tour du Quadraro, Medieval tower in Quadraro district, Rome, Italy

The quadrangular tower stands amid modern buildings in Piazza dei Consoli, featuring battlements and integration with a historic farmhouse structure.

Constructed in the 14th century using tufa blocks and marble fragments, the tower replaced an earlier structure built during the Roman Republican period.

The tower received its name from G. G. Guadralis, a 12th-century landowner, and later became part of the Colonna family's extensive holdings.

The tower remains accessible through Rome's public transportation system, with metro and bus stations connecting visitors to this medieval structure.

Archaeological discoveries near the tower include funerary inscriptions and sculptural materials indicating the presence of an ancient residential villa.
