Palazzo della Provincia, Provincial administrative palace in Piazza Caduti per la Libertà, Ravenna, Italy
Palazzo della Provincia is an administrative building with four wings arranged around a central garden featuring Byzantine design elements. A portico marks the main entrance and connects the different sections of the complex.
Architect Giulio Ulisse Arata designed and built the palace between 1925 and 1928 on the site of a 17th-century residence. It replaced the former Rasponi family home that previously occupied the location.
The President's Hall displays paintings of Ravenna created by local artists from the region. These rooms reflect the city's artistic heritage through their wall decorations and furnishings.
The building houses provincial government offices and welcomes visitors during business hours to explore its architectural features. Plan your visit on weekdays for better access to the public areas.
The building preserves remains from the original Rasponi residence, including a Neo-Gothic tower and mosaics from the Basilica of San Severo in Classe. These valuable elements were integrated into the new structure and show layers of the city's history in one location.
