Parco letterario Salvatore Quasimodo

Salvatore Quasimodo Literary Park is a museum complex in Roccalumera that occupies a former railway station, restored freight cars, and a historic tower. The collection tells the story of the poet's life through displays spread across these different spaces.

The literary park was founded in 2001 to honor Nobel Prize laureate Salvatore Quasimodo in his hometown, where he spent his childhood. The site marks the connection between the poet and Roccalumera, the place that shaped his early years and influenced his writing.

The park honors the poet through displays of his personal objects and furnishings from his Milan home. Visitors can see how daily life shaped the work of this Nobel Prize-winning writer.

The park can be explored independently, though guided tours are available by advance arrangement. Wear comfortable shoes and allow time to visit all the exhibition areas located in the different buildings and train cars.

Five restored railway carriages serve as exhibition spaces, creating a mobile museum that documents the poet's journey through different chapters of his life. This use of train cars as galleries offers a different experience than a typical museum building.
