Cala Biriola

Cala Biriola is a beach on Sardinia's eastern coast near Orosei, featuring soft white sand and turquoise water. The cove is enclosed by tall rocky cliffs that create a sheltered setting away from strong winds.

The beach remained largely isolated and accessible only by foot or boat for decades, which protected it from modern development. This remoteness helped preserve its natural character over time.

Reaching the beach requires a steep hike of about 30 minutes from the nearest road, so sturdy footwear is essential. During summer months, visitor numbers stay manageable because vehicle access is limited.

A small cave with crystal water sits at the southern edge of the cove and draws snorkelers seeking shallow underwater exploration. This grotto requires careful navigation but rewards those willing to explore it.
