Museo Novecento

Museo Novecento is an art museum in Florence spread across two floors that presents Italian artworks from the twentieth century. The collection spans 15 exhibition spaces and includes paintings, sculptures, videos, and other artistic works.

After the severe flood that devastated Florence in 1966, a campaign was launched to save the city's culture, which prompted hundreds of artists to donate their works. These generous gifts formed the foundation for the museum that would eventually be established.

The museum takes its name from the art movement that shaped its collections, showing how Italian artists of the twentieth century saw their own time. The displayed works tell of personal expression and fresh ways of seeing that emerged during that era.
