Caduti di Brema Stadium

Caduti di Brema Stadium, Football stadium in Barra district, Naples, Italy.

Description

The Caduti di Brema Stadium is Naples' third-largest sports facility and features a grass field with modern lighting systems and renovated perimeter walls. The venue accommodates around 4,000 spectators and serves local football teams and youth training schools from the eastern districts of the city.

History

The stadium was inaugurated on April 3, 1965, originally as Signorini Stadium and named after an early Italian sports pioneer. It hosted its first match between the Barrese and Flegrea teams under Pietro Signorini's leadership.

Culture

The stadium is named after Italian swimmers who died in Bremen, showing how sport and historical memory are connected in Naples. This naming choice reflects how the city honors its athletic heritage.

Practical

The stadium is located near Barra Circumvesuviana station and is easily accessible by several bus lines, including routes 156, 158, 173, 175, 176, and 177. These transit options make it convenient to reach from different parts of the city.

Did you know?

The stadium underwent a major 800,000 euro renovation in 2019 ahead of the Universiade, transforming it into a modern venue for local athletes and young talent. This significant upgrade brought the facility up to contemporary standards for competitive sports.
