Villa Pignatelli di Montecalvo, 18th century villa in San Giorgio a Cremano, Italy.
Villa Pignatelli di Montecalvo is a two-story residence in San Giorgio a Cremano with a monumental portal built from volcanic stone featuring diamond-pattern blocks. A large loggia occupies the northwestern section of the building.
Princess Emanuella Caracciolo Pignatelli commissioned its construction in 1747, likely under the direction of architect Ferdinando Sanfelice. The building became an important example of the classical villa design of the region.
The villa displays traditional Neapolitan design with Baroque features mixed with Rococo decoration in its plaster work and carved capitals.
The entrance sits on Largo Arso in the center of San Giorgio a Cremano. The building currently undergoes stabilization work with steel supports and is marked with protective measures to secure the structure.
The building served as a filming location for productions including the movie Reality by Matteo Garrone and the television series Gomorra. Its appearance in these works has made it a recognizable landmark in the region's film history.
