Villa Mi Sol, Private residence on Corso Imperatrice, Sanremo, Italy
Villa Mi Sol is a residential building along Sanremo's seafront, distinguished by an angular turret with circular windows and a roof covered in fish-scale slate tiles. The structure sits on Corso Imperatrice overlooking the waterfront.
The building was originally called Villa Mon Soleil and constructed between 1878 and 1880 following architect Pio Soli's designs. It was built during a period of significant architectural development along the Ligurian coast.
The villa took its name Mi Sol from pianist Adele de Vescoli Zanella, who wove musical references into the building's identity. The name reflects the musical heritage connected to its former resident.
The residence is private and can only be viewed from outside while exploring Sanremo's waterfront promenade along Corso Imperatrice. The best view of the building is from the public waterfront area.
Architect Pio Soli was known for a two-part construction technique where structures combined distinct compositional elements. This method is visibly evident in the building's design and assembly.
