Belbeisi Palace is a three-story residential building in Jabal Amman featuring distinctive pink and white striped stone on its facade. The main structure sits within surrounding gardens that form part of the overall composition.
The residence was built in 1947 by Ismail Bilbeisi, a businessman who held the first import concession for Cadillac and Chevrolet vehicles in Jordan. At that time it was the largest private home in Amman and left its mark on the city's development.
The residence displays traditional Arab architecture through its central courtyard layout, which reflects how people lived during that era. Local building methods and materials shape the visible design elements that visitors can see throughout the structure.
The building sits in the First Circle area of Jabal Amman, an easily accessible neighborhood with convenient access to central parts of the city. It now operates as a museum of traditional arts that welcomes visitors during regular opening hours.
Egyptian architect Mukhtar Saqr designed this residence according to the owner's vision, creating a blend of local and international influences. This kind of architectural collaboration was uncommon in Amman during the 1940s and reveals the cosmopolitan spirit of the city at that moment.
