Nippa Station, metro station in Kōhoku ward, Yokohama, Japan
Nippa Station is a railway station on the Yokohama Municipal Subway's Blue Line located in Kōhoku-ku. The station features two island platforms and four tracks, with two designated for trains that originate or terminate here, while safety screen doors protect passengers from track accidents.
The station opened in March 1993 as part of the Yokohama Municipal Subway system's expansion into the Kōhoku area. Safety screen doors were added in 2007 to meet growing passenger protection standards.
The station takes its name from the Nippachō neighborhood. It serves as a daily hub where local residents and commuters pass through during their regular routines, creating a familiar rhythm that shapes the area's everyday life.
The station features clear signage with station code B27 making navigation straightforward for first-time visitors. Open platform design provides good sight lines for approaching trains and allows passengers to move easily between exits.
Because the station is built above ground on elevated pillars, passengers waiting for trains can see the city below them, an advantage underground stations do not offer. This open design creates a sense of space and lightness that makes the wait more pleasant.
