Tokorozawa Station, Railway station in Kusunokidai, Japan
Tokorozawa Station is a railway stop in Kusunokidai serving the Seibu Ikebukuro Line and Seibu Shinjuku Line, with five tracks arranged across three platforms. The station building connects directly to Grand Emio, a shopping complex housing around 120 stores spread across several floors.
The station opened for service on March 21, 1895, providing local rail connections in the Saitama region. The current station building was completed in 2012 as part of a major redevelopment of the site.
The station connects travelers to numerous cultural attractions, including the Tokorozawa Sakura Town, which opened in November 2020 for exhibitions and events.
Over 102,000 passengers pass through the station each day, with most travelers either transferring between the two lines or visiting the shopping area. The platforms are accessible by stairs and elevators, and signs in the main hall guide visitors to different exits.
Since 2013, through-running trains on the Seibu Ikebukuro Line continue directly to Yokohama without requiring passengers to transfer. This connection was made possible by operational cooperation between several private railway companies in the Kanto region.
