Bando, Japanese municipality in Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan

Bandō extends across 123 square kilometers on the north bank of the Tone River, containing industrial parks and agricultural fields producing vegetables.

The city of Bandō emerged on March 22, 2005, through the consolidation of Iwai city and Sashima town, marking a significant administrative transformation.

The municipal emblem incorporates the hiragana character 'ば' with green representing agriculture and blue symbolizing the Tone River flowing through the region.

The Bandō Interchange connects to the Ken-Ō Expressway and National Route 354, providing road access despite the absence of passenger train service.

The Ibaraki Nature Museum within Bandō presents regional specimens and exhibits, while the grounds of Sakasai Castle preserve local heritage.
