Kasukabe, Special city in Saitama Prefecture, Japan.

Kasukabe spans 66 square kilometers with a population of 233,278 residents, featuring residential neighborhoods, commercial districts, and multiple railway stations connecting to Tokyo.

During the Edo period, the city developed as a post station along the Nikko Kaido highway, connecting the capital Edo with the sacred city of Nikko.

The city maintains a tradition of producing kiri-tansu, furniture pieces crafted from paulownia wood, which led to the paulownia being selected as the official city tree.

The Tobu Railway lines provide direct access to central Tokyo, with trains departing from Kasukabe Station reaching Asakusa in approximately 45 minutes.

The Metropolitan Area Outer Underground Discharge Channel, located in Kasukabe, represents the largest flood prevention system in the world, featuring massive underground tunnels.
