Meguro-ku, Special ward in Tokyo, Japan

Meguro-ku stretches across 14.67 square kilometers and contains 27 distinct neighborhoods, including residential areas, commercial zones, and educational institutions.

The territory gained administrative status on October 1, 1932, and later integrated into Tokyo City through the amalgamation of special wards on July 1, 1943.

The Higashiyama shell mound in the northern section preserves archaeological artifacts from the paleolithic, Jōmon, Yayoi, and Kofun periods of Japanese civilization.

The ward connects to central Tokyo through multiple rail lines and borders four other special wards: Shibuya, Setagaya, Ōta, and Shinagawa.

The name originates from the Meguro Fudō, a black-eyed Buddhist deity statue housed at Ryūsenji temple within the district boundaries.
