Ōimachi Station, Railway interchange station in Shinagawa, Japan
Ōimachi Station is a multilevel transit hub in Ōi, Shinagawa, bringing together three railway operators under one roof. The facility contains six platforms with tracks serving JR East, Tokyo Waterfront Area Rapid Transit, and Tokyu Corporation.
The station began operations on March 15, 1901, as part of railway development in Shinagawa district. Additional operators joined over the following decades.
The station neighborhood contains the Shiki Theatre Natsu and multiple shopping centers, reflecting the local entertainment and retail character of the area.
More than one hundred thousand passengers use the station daily and reach Tokyo, Yokohama, and other destinations directly from here. Signage and wayfinding aids simplify navigation through the different levels.
The station building connects directly to the atré Oimachi shopping complex, which extends across multiple floors. Passengers can reach shops and restaurants without leaving the station premises.
