Kannami

Kannami is a town in Tagata district, Shizuoka Prefecture, located south of the Hakone mountains. The Kano River flows through the area, and the landscape consists of hills and forested regions.

The town was founded on April 1, 1889, and later became part of the Numazu metropolitan area in 1963. This expansion shaped the area's infrastructure and community growth.

The Kannami Buddha Sculpture Museum displays regional artworks that reflect the artistic traditions of the area. The community values these pieces as expressions of their local identity.

The town has schools at all levels and provides basic services for residents and visitors. Main locations are easily accessible on foot or by local transportation.

From the Jukkoku-toge Pass, visitors can see Mount Fuji on clear days, making it a favored spot for photographers. The region is also known for its specialty watermelons and local dairy products.
