Toyama Station is a railway interchange in Toyama city with raised platforms serving the Hokuriku Shinkansen, Takayama Main Line, and Ainokaze Toyama Railway. The platforms link local trains with high-speed services toward Kanazawa, Nagano, and Tokyo.
The interchange opened on March 20, 1899, as a regional link between the Hokuriku coast and central Japan cities. The arrival of the Hokuriku Shinkansen in 2015 transformed it into a modern long-distance hub.
