Awa-Kamogawa Station, Terminal railway station in Kamogawa, Japan
Awa-Kamogawa is a terminal station in Kamogawa where the Sotobō and Uchibō Lines meet, each served by separate platforms. An island platform accommodates one line while a side platform serves the other, connected by a pedestrian bridge with two access points.
The station opened in 1925 as part of the original railway network and underwent several administrative changes as rail companies reorganized. It became part of JR East in 1987 and continues to serve the region today.
The station represents a central point for transportation in Chiba Prefecture, serving both residents and travelers exploring the coastal region of eastern Japan.
The station has a staffed ticket counter for passenger assistance and clear signage to help visitors navigate between the two lines. Both platforms are accessible through the main bridge, making it straightforward to reach either service.
This transportation hub stands as one of only three stations in Japan that function as terminals for two lines with exclusively up traffic.
