Ainosato-Kyōikudai Station, railway station in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan
Ainosato-Kyōikudai Station is a railway station in Sapporo that is part of the Sasshō Line and operated by JR Hokkaido. It features two ground-level platforms, simple station buildings with automated and staffed ticket counters, and automatic turnstiles that accept the Kitaca card.
The station opened on November 1, 1986, and has since developed into an important transportation hub. In June 2012, the line was electrified, making train service cleaner and more efficient.
The station takes its name from the nearby Hokkaido University of Education and serves as an important point in the daily life of the local community. It fits naturally into the quiet rhythm of the neighborhood, connecting students, staff, and residents with their everyday activities throughout the city.
The station is easy to reach on foot and is often visited by pedestrians, cyclists, and bus passengers. Clear signage and the simple, neutral design help visitors find their way easily, even if they are unfamiliar with the area.
The first platform serves trains heading toward Sapporo and Sōen, while the second platform serves trains going toward Ishikari-Tōbetsu and Hokkaido Medical University Hospital. This functional division shows how the station serves two different travel routes across the region.
