Mt. Kasagatake, Mountain summit in Gifu Prefecture, Japan

Mount Kasa reaches an elevation of 2,897 meters within the Hida Mountains range, featuring distinct white quartz slopes on its eastern face.

The modern climbing history of Mount Kasa began in 1894 when the first documented ascent was completed by mountaineer Weston to reach its peak.

During the Edo period, religious figures Enku and Banryu climbed the mountain as part of mountain worship practices, when it was called Mount Kata-dake.

The Kasagatake mountain hut, located 256 meters north-northeast of the summit, provides accommodation and shelter for climbers during their ascent.

The mountain's name translates to umbrella in Japanese, referring to its triangular shape that is visible from multiple viewing angles across the region.
