Minamikoma district, Administrative district in Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan
Minamikoma encompasses four distinct towns: Fujikawa, Hayakawa, Minobu, and Nanbu, covering a total area of 984.8 square kilometers in southern Yamanashi Prefecture.
The district emerged from the division of Koma District in 1878, initially containing 22 villages before undergoing multiple administrative reorganizations throughout the 20th century.
The Kuon-ji Temple in Minobu town serves as the central religious institution of Nichiren Buddhism, drawing visitors and practitioners from across Japan.
The district maintains a population density of 33.65 persons per square kilometer, with agricultural activities centered on fruit cultivation, particularly grapes and peaches.
The district includes sections of the Southern Alps, providing numerous hiking trails and natural areas for outdoor recreation throughout the seasons.
