Ōkubo Station, Railway station in Akashi, Japan
Ōkubo Station is a railway station on the San'yō Line in Akashi with two ground-level island platforms connected by an elevated structure. An additional siding on the western side allows flexible train movements, though this track has no passenger platform access.
The San'yō Railway opened Ōkubo Station on December 23, 1888, bringing rail transport to this section of Hyōgo Prefecture. This opening marked a turning point in regional connectivity during the Meiji period.
The station serves multiple educational institutions in the area, including Okubo Junior High School, Okubo Elementary School, and Okubo Minami Elementary School.
The station has a ticket window called Midori no Madoguchi for everyday passenger needs and is used daily by thousands of travelers. Visitors should note that the platforms are at ground level, which eases access, though it can get crowded during peak times.
The station received its official numbering designation JR-A75 in March 2018, integrating it into the modernized Japanese railway identification system.
