Kimotsuki district, Administrative district in Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan.
The Kimotsuki district spans across 712 square kilometers of land, containing four municipalities: Higashikushira, Kinkō, Minamiōsumi, and Kimotsuki town.
Established in February 1879, the district underwent several territorial changes, including the mergers of Ōnejime and Tashiro into Kinkō town in March 2005.
The district preserves multiple archaeological sites from the Kofun period, including the Tsukazaki Kofun Cluster, which received National Historic Site designation.
The district connects to major transportation routes through National Route 220 and National Route 448, with Kagoshima-Chūō Station serving as the nearest rail hub.
Within the district boundaries lies the Uchinoura Space Center, a facility operated by JAXA for conducting space research and satellite launches.
