Norodom Boulevard

Norodom Boulevard extends for 5.9 kilometers through Phnom Penh, connecting Monivong Bridge at the Bassac River to Wat Phnom in the northern part of the city.

The boulevard, initially named Boulevard Doudart de Lagrée during French colonial rule, received its current name in 1995 to honor King Norodom of Cambodia.

The Independence Monument stands at the intersection with Sihanouk Boulevard, marking Cambodia's liberation from foreign rule and serving as a memorial site.

Two public bus routes service the boulevard, providing transportation access to educational institutions, embassies, and government buildings located along its length.

The 70-meter-wide thoroughfare contains both modern traffic lights and older non-operational ones, reflecting the layered infrastructure development of Phnom Penh.
