Monivong Bridge

Monivong Bridge crosses the Bassac River and connects different neighborhoods of Phnom Penh with two traffic lanes running across its length. The structure is built to handle daily traffic between the city's eastern and western zones.

The bridge takes its name from King Norodom Monivong who ruled Cambodia in the early 1900s. It was built to serve the city's expanding transportation needs at that time.

The bridge connects neighborhoods where you can see local commerce flourishing on both sides, with vendors and shops that serve daily residents rather than tourists.

The bridge carries regular traffic as part of the main city routes and can be crowded during peak hours. Walking across or biking is possible, though you will be sharing the space with vehicles.
