Jikjisa, Buddhist temple on Mount Cheondeungsan in Gimcheon, South Korea

The temple complex contains multiple traditional structures, including the main hall Daeungjeon which houses a statue of Sakyamuni Buddha beneath curving rooflines.

Founded in 418 by Preceptor Ado, Jikjisa underwent two major reconstructions during the Silla era, first in 645 by Master Jajang Yulsa and again in 930.

As the head temple of the Jogye Order's eighth district, Jikjisa oversees 54 branch temples and maintains centuries-old Buddhist practices in northwestern North Gyeongsang Province.

The temple provides accommodations through its Templestay program and connects to major cities like Daegu through regular public bus services.

A flat stone next to the Heavenly Kings' Gate marks where Master Sinmuk discovered a sleeping boy who became Great Master Yujeong, a military leader.
