Posco Tower Songdo, High-rise building in Songdo, South Korea
Posco Tower is a steel and glass structure that rises 305 meters with 68 floors, defining the skyline of Songdo International Business District. The building houses the Oakwood Premier Hotel from floors 36 to 64 with 423 rooms and is served by 22 elevators.
Construction began in 2007 but was interrupted three times by financial challenges before completion in 2014. These delays reflect the economic difficulties that affected South Korea's development plans during the global financial crisis.
The tower embodies South Korea's ambition to create world-class business hubs and shows how international design became part of the city's identity. You can observe how professionals and visitors move through the public spaces, making this a working center of daily commerce rather than just a monument.
The location in Songdo is well-connected by public transportation, and the numerous elevators provide quick access to all floors of the building. Hotel and office spaces are distributed throughout, so it helps to know which floor you need before entering the lobby.
The Panoramic65 restaurant on the 65th floor offers views across Songdo International City and is Incheon's highest dining venue. From up there you can see the entire planned city below and understand how this district was designed.
