Domalak Ana mausoleum

Domalak Ana mausoleum is a sacred structure on the southern slope of the Karatau mountains in the Balabogen valley, designed with traditional local architectural forms. Inside the building you will find two sacred stones and historical manuscripts that draw both pilgrims and visitors.

The mausoleum was built in 1456 at the burial site of Nuryla Ali Sylańkyzy, known as Domalak Ana. Over the centuries, restoration work has kept the structure standing and maintained its role as a sacred place.

The mausoleum honors Domalak Ana, a respected woman whose memory lives on as a peacemaker between rival groups in the region's past. Visitors can sense the ongoing connection between the place and the people who gather there to remember her role in reconciliation.

The site sits in an accessible location within the Balabogen valley and welcomes visitors throughout the year. Wear sturdy shoes since access involves unpaved paths and the surroundings are open and rolling.
