Santakos parkas, Public park at the confluence of Nemunas and Neris rivers in Kaunas, Lithuania

Santakos Park is a roughly 13-hectare green space at the point where the Nemunas and Neris rivers meet, with walking paths, sports facilities, and two amphitheaters nearby. The site sits next to the historic Kaunas Castle and features modern amenities including LED lighting, separate bicycle lanes, and updated sports courts throughout.

The location marks where Duke Kunas established the original settlement and built the first castle, making this the founding site of Kaunas. The strategic position at the river confluence became crucial to the city's development over the following centuries.

The grounds regularly host the annual Operetta Festival and theatrical performances that draw crowds who gather here to experience local arts and celebrations throughout the year.

The park is easy to walk through and clearly laid out, with distinct paths for strolling, cycling, or playing sports depending on your interests. Good lighting and separate bike lanes make it comfortable and safe to visit at different times of day.

A protected willow tree grows in the park, providing shelter to various bird species including starlings, thrushes, and magpies. It serves as a quiet spot where visitors can watch local wildlife.
