Moroccan Jewish Museum

The Moroccan Jewish Museum is housed in a renovated garden villa in Casablanca with multiple exhibition spaces. It displays artifacts, photographs, and religious objects that document Jewish history in the country.

The museum was founded in 1997 in a building from 1948 that originally housed an orphanage for Jewish children. This conversion preserved a space that had served the local community for decades.

The exhibits show traditional clothing, ritual objects, and a reconstructed synagogue from Larache that reflect Jewish life in Morocco. Visitors can see how families celebrated their holidays and practiced their customs in this North African country.

The museum is located near the Gare de l'Oasis tram stop and is easy to reach by public transport. Check opening hours ahead of your visit, as they vary significantly by day of the week.

This is the only Jewish museum in the Arab world and documents a history that is rarely visible today. It preserves the heritage of a community that was once the largest in the entire Muslim Mediterranean region.
