Mulee'aage, Presidential palace in Malé, Maldives

The white colonial bungalow features detailed carved exterior walls and stands in front of the Friday Mosque in central Malé district.

Sultan Mohamed Shamsuddeen III commissioned the construction of Mulee'aage in 1914 as a residence for his son Prince Hassan Izzuddeen.

The palace represents the transition from sultanate to republic, serving as both a former royal residence and the current presidential office.

Visitors can photograph the exterior of the building from Medhuziyaarai Magu street while observing the official presidential guards at their posts.

The building hosted Queen Elizabeth II during her 1972 visit to the Maldives, marking a significant moment in diplomatic relations.
