Bislig

Bislig sits on the eastern coast of Mindanao and stretches along the Pacific Ocean with numerous beaches, waterfalls, and natural springs scattered throughout the area. The city is also home to cave systems with underground rivers and multi-tiered waterfall formations that shape its natural landscape.

The settlement grew from a small town into an urban center while a major paper mill shaped its economy until 2000. Operating this facility once made the city one of the region's largest production centers.

The Karawasan Festival celebrates crab migration through traditional dance competitions between schools, reflecting local marine customs and connection to the sea.

Access to waterfalls comes via roads from the city center, followed by short walks to natural attractions. The best time to visit is during the rainy season when waterfalls flow stronger and natural springs are fuller.

Hinayagan Cave contains an underground river system where sunlight filters through ceiling openings and naturally illuminates its chambers. This interplay of light creates a rare subterranean setting found in few comparable places.
