Ayala Center, Commercial complex in Makati, Philippines
Ayala Center is a large commercial complex in Makati that contains three shopping malls, three department stores, restaurants, cinemas, and hotels alongside residential and office towers. The space also includes parks and green areas distributed throughout the development.
This site began in 1960 as the Makati Commercial Center and Greenbelt Junction as separate developments. A major redesign in 1991 merged these areas into the current Ayala Center.
The Ayala Museum within this complex displays Philippine art and historical artifacts alongside regular community events and cultural performances. These offerings give the place a role beyond shopping for local residents and visitors.
The Ayala station on MRT Line 3 connects directly to this complex and links it with different areas of Metro Manila. This makes reaching the space straightforward using public transportation.
Multiple interconnected parks run through the complex, including Greenbelt Park where the Santo Niño de Paz Chapel sits among retail shops. This chapel offers a quiet space within the busy commercial area.
