Glorietta, Shopping center in Makati, Philippines
Glorietta is a shopping center in Makati comprising five connected buildings that house over 550 retail stores, restaurants, and entertainment venues. Two central activity spaces serve as gathering points and event locations throughout the complex.
The site was originally a public park with an outdoor stage during the 1970s. It was later transformed into a commercial complex and opened under its current name in 1991.
This shopping center serves as a social hub where people from Manila gather for business meetings, family outings, and celebrations. The design encourages encounters across its different sections, creating spaces for both formal discussions and casual hangouts.
The center connects directly to several public transportation options for easy access. A mobile application allows visitors to earn rewards points as they shop throughout the complex.
In 2012, this center set a Guinness World Record when 2,255 people participated in a fashion show on its catwalk during the Move to the Vibe event. This achievement demonstrates the venue's capacity to host large-scale productions.
