Smart Tower, Commercial skyscraper in Makati, Philippines.
Smart Tower is a 36-story office building with a glass facade on Ayala Avenue in Makati, one of Metro Manila's main commercial districts. The building stands close to Greenbelt Shopping Mall and is part of the dense cluster of corporate towers that lines this avenue.
The building started as an unfinished 10-story structure before Smart Communications acquired it and completed it in 2009, expanding it to its current height. Ownership changed again after 2020, when a real estate developer took it over.
The tower sits in the business core of Makati, a district that Filipinos associate with corporate life and white-collar work. Walking along Ayala Avenue, you pass a dense row of office towers, hotels, and malls that together shape everyday working life in the city.
The tower is on Ayala Avenue, which is easy to reach by bus, jeepney, or the nearby MRT station. The surrounding area has plenty of options for food and rest, making it convenient to combine a visit with other stops along the avenue.
The tower is one of the few buildings in Metro Manila that was completed from a long-abandoned skeleton structure, eventually rising to become one of the tallest on Ayala Avenue. This makes it a rare example of an unfinished project turned into a fully operating corporate tower.
