Trango Towers, Granite cliff formation in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan.

The Trango Towers rise to 6,286 meters, presenting vertical rock faces and multiple peaks along a northwest-southeast ridge between Trango and Dunge glaciers.

The first successful ascent of Great Trango occurred in 1977 when Galen Rowell, John Roskelley, Kim Schmitz, Jim Morrissey, and Dennis Hennek climbed through ice and rock.

The name originates from the Balti language, representing the heritage of local communities who inhabit the valleys near these towering granite formations.

Climbers access the site by flying to Skardu, taking a jeep to Askole village, then completing a multi-day trek to the base camp.

The east face of Great Trango Tower features the world's largest near-vertical drop, making it a significant destination for technical climbing expeditions.
