Kalibari Mandir, Peshawar, Hindu temple in Peshawar, Pakistan.
Kalibari Mandir is a Hindu temple in Peshawar, Pakistan, dedicated to the goddess Kali. The building follows traditional Hindu architectural styles with ornamental carvings and decorative patterns covering its facade and interior walls.
The temple is one of the few Hindu religious buildings still standing in Peshawar, a city that was home to a diverse religious community for many centuries. After the partition of the subcontinent in 1947, most of the Hindu population left the region, and only a handful of sacred sites survived.
The temple is one of the few places in Peshawar where Hindu worshippers still gather regularly for prayer. During Durga Puja, the courtyard fills with devotees performing rituals dedicated to the goddess Kali.
The temple is open daily and can be visited on foot from the older parts of the city. Visitors should remove their shoes before entering and wear modest clothing, as this is an active place of worship.
Kalibari Mandir is one of only two temples in Peshawar that remains open every day for prayer. This makes it one of the very few places in the city where Hindu daily life is still visible today.
