Attock Bridge, Railway bridge in Attock District, Pakistan

The Attock Bridge spans 425 meters across the Indus River with five steel truss sections connecting Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces through two vertical levels.

Sir Guildford Molesworth designed this colonial infrastructure, which opened in 1883 and underwent reconstruction in 1929 under Sir Francis Callaghan's supervision at a cost of 2.5 million rupees.

The structure incorporates fortified entrances at both ends, reflecting regional security measures implemented during the British colonial period to protect against tribal raids.

The upper level carries railway traffic while the lower level supported road vehicles until 1979, when vehicular traffic moved to a separate bridge constructed nearby.

Three spans measure 257 feet and two spans extend 312 feet, making these sections among the longest girders built in colonial India during the 1880s.
