Hakimon ka Maqbara

Hakimon ka Maqbara is an octagonal mausoleum in Hasan Abdal that displays typical Mughal architecture with symmetrical designs and detailed stone carvings across its outer walls. The structure features intricate ornamental work that shows the skill of the craftsmen who built it.

The mausoleum was built in 1589 during the reign of Emperor Akbar and shows how Mughal power expanded into northern Punjab. This construction period coincided with a time of great architectural innovation and artistic flourishing across the empire.

The building displays Persian architectural methods combined with local craftsmanship, showing how artistic ideas traveled between different parts of the Mughal Empire.

The tomb sits about 50 kilometers northwest of Islamabad and can be reached by the main road heading toward Hasan Abdal. The best time to visit is during cooler months when the heat is less intense.

The foundation stones of the structure bear signatures of Mughal masons, showing how stonemasons marked their work in the 1500s. These marks offer a rare glimpse into the personal identity and craftsmanship of those workers.
