Piątkowo transmitter, Television transmitter tower in Poznań, Poland.
The Piątkowo transmission site comprises two distinct towers: a 76 meter concrete structure and a 128 meter steel lattice tower in northern Poznań. The two structures work together to broadcast radio signals across the city.
The concrete structure was built in 1963 as the region's original transmission tower. The taller steel lattice tower was added in 1993 to expand broadcasting capacity.
The transmission facility serves Poznań residents with multiple radio stations, including national and religious broadcasts. It functions as a key distribution point for local and regional radio programs across the city.
The facility is located near Sobieskiego Dworzec bus station and Tesco Piątkowo shopping center, offering good public transport connections. The site is viewable from surrounding streets since it sits in an open area north of the city center.
The older concrete tower lacks an antenna mast at its top, which distinguishes it from typical Polish telecommunications towers. This design choice makes the structure visually distinctive at the transmission site.
