Schronisko PTTK na Hali Krupowej, Mountain hut in Beskid Żywiecki region, Poland.
Schronisko PTTK na Hali Krupowej is a wooden mountain shelter located at 1152 meters elevation between Jordanów, Zubrzyca and Zawoja. The facility provides 38 sleeping places arranged in double, four-person and dormitory rooms with shared bathrooms and a food service area.
The original shelter called Pod Policą opened in January 1935 and was destroyed in 1944 during World War II. It was rebuilt in 1955 and has operated from this location since then.
The building features highland design with a stone fireplace in its dining room, where traditional mountain cooking is served to visitors. This setting reflects how people in the region connect to local food and hospitality.
The shelter is most accessible during warmer months when trails are clear and service runs smoothly. During winter, conditions can be challenging and it is worth checking ahead if the facility is open.
The shelter is home to a permanent base of the GOPR mountain rescue team, which coordinates rescue operations in the region from this location. A notable moment came when Cardinal Karol Wojtyła visited in 1978, years before becoming Pope.
