Mosorny Groń, Mountain summit in Beskid Żywiecki, Poland
Mosorny Groń is a mountain peak in the Beskid Żywiecki range that rises above 1000 meters and overlooks the valleys below. The summit area transitions from steep slopes at its edges to open meadows across its middle section.
The name comes from Wallachian language, where 'mosor' meant a wooden ladle and 'grui' referred to an elevated riverbank. These terms reflect historical settlement patterns in the mountain region.
The summit serves as a connection point between the valleys of Mosorny Stream and Jaworzynka, with the Skawica Valley situated on the northwest ridge.
A chairlift carries visitors to the summit and can get crowded on weekends and during winter season. Plan extra time for the ascent and bring warm clothing for the exposed mountain environment.
The ski slope features steep sections at both ends while traversing open meadows in between, with complete snow coverage and illumination for evening skiing.
