Diablak, Mountain summit in Beskydy Mountains, Slovakia
Diablak is a mountain summit in the Beskydy Mountains of northern Slovakia near the Polish border. The peak stands at 1,288 meters and can be reached by marked trails connecting from several different starting locations.
The mountain was first documented in 1806 when Archduke Joseph of Habsburg led an expedition to reach its summit. This marked a turning point in regional exploration and established the location as a recognized destination.
The summit serves as a gathering place for local communities and visitors who come to experience the mountain landscape together. People use this elevated position as a natural meeting point throughout the year.
The climb offers options for both beginners and experienced hikers depending on which trail you choose. Starting early in the day gives you plenty of daylight to return safely.
On the southern slopes flows the Głodna Woda Spring, a water source that appears at high elevation and represents an unusual natural feature of this location. This spring is a rare occurrence at such altitude in the mountain range.
