Osiedle Wichrowe Wzgórze, Residential quarter in Winogrady district, Poznań, Poland.
Osiedle Wichrowe Wzgórze is a residential quarter in the Winogrady district featuring multiple apartment blocks arranged around landscaped green spaces. Streets named after Eastern European countries such as Estonia and Latvia run through the estate, creating its street layout.
The quarter was constructed between 1978 and 1981 by Kombinat Budowlany Poznań-Północ as a modern residential development. It was previously known as Kraju Rad before being incorporated into Nowe Winogrady Północ in 2011.
The estate contains the Roman Catholic Church of the Ascension, which serves as a spiritual center for residents. Murals adorning the apartment blocks reflect moments from Poland's modern history and add character to the residential spaces.
The quarter is served by tram lines 7 and 19, as well as ten bus routes that connect residents to central Poznań and surrounding areas. This transportation network makes traveling between the estate and other parts of the city straightforward.
The Golgota Wschodu monument stands in the estate, unveiled in 2009 to commemorate a significant chapter in Polish-Soviet history. This memorial adds a reflective dimension to the everyday residential surroundings.
