Pomnik Najświętszego Zbawiciela w Poznaniu

The monument of Christ the King is a statue standing on a pedestal in a garden square before the neo-Gothic parish church of the Holy Savior. The figure rises prominently in the center of the space on Fredry Street, becoming a focal point for the surrounding area.

The sculpture was created by artist Eugeniusz Olechowski and unveiled in 2000. Its creation marked two millennia of Christianity in the region and celebrated fifty years of the parish community.

The statue depicts Jesus with one hand raised in blessing and holding a sphere in the other, following traditional Christian iconography. This representation shapes how visitors experience the square in front of the neo-Gothic church throughout the year.

The monument sits in the city center, easily accessible on foot near other memorials including the Katyń Monument and Stanisław Mikołajczyk Monument. The surrounding square provides ample space to stop, reflect, and photograph from different angles.

The pedestal features an inscription that honors Christ while connecting two significant events: the second millennium of his birth and the fiftieth anniversary of the local parish. This dual meaning gives the monument depth beyond a typical religious statue.
