Beato, Historic parish in eastern Lisbon, Portugal.
The parish extends over 2.48 square kilometers between Alameda do Beato and Encosta da Picheleira, containing neighborhoods of Chelas and Xabregas.
Queen Isabel of Portugal funded the construction of a convent in 1455, establishing the foundation for the development of this district.
The Convent of Beato houses permanent exhibitions about local traditions and maintains gardens that demonstrate Portuguese landscaping techniques.
