Miradouro de Santa Luzia, Scenic viewpoint in Alfama district, Lisbon, Portugal.

Miradouro de Santa Luzia sits beside Santa Luzia church and offers views across the terracotta rooftops of the old district toward the Tagus River delta. The terrace unfolds with paved areas and a shaded pergola covered in flowers, lined with benches where visitors can sit.

The viewpoint features decorative tile panels showing the Commerce Square before the 1755 earthquake and the Christian conquest of Saint George's Castle in 1147. These tiles connect the present with pivotal moments in the city's past.

The terrace displays traditional Portuguese craftsmanship through blue tile work and a flowering pergola, elements that reflect how the neighborhood has been shaped over time. These details show the everyday aesthetics that residents and visitors have come to associate with this historic quarter.

The viewpoint can be reached by tram 28 from downtown or by walking uphill through the narrow streets. The climb can be steep, so wearing comfortable shoes and allowing time for the journey is helpful.

The lower level of the viewpoint contains a reflecting pool that mirrors the surrounding architecture and the roofline of the district. This pool offers unexpected perspectives, allowing visitors to see the surroundings from a different angle.
