A szolcsvai Búvópatak barlangja, Limestone cave in Trascău Mountains, Romania

The cave entrance features a 35-meter-high Gothic-style portal with a 50-meter rock wall rising above, creating an entrance chamber.

First documented in 1839 by Ignatz Lenk von Traunfeld, the cave underwent detailed mapping in 1938 by Dr. Ernő Balogh using compass and tachymeter.

Between 1979 and 1984, the Polaris Cave Club from Blaj conducted extensive exploration and established initial infrastructure at the entrance section.

The cave entrance contains water depths of 1.5 meters, with the Fan Waterfall visible approximately 50 meters from the entrance point.

The cave houses the largest bat population in Europe, with 84,000 individuals from nine species recorded during winter 2007-2008.
